The Chompshop mission is to make kid-safe tools that empower and inspire learning, exploration and creativity. The Chompshop team sought UN/COMMON’s expertise in redesign upon recognizing that their ecommerce environment struggled to balance the grown up required actions of purchase and the desired child interaction in post purchase. The goal was to create a clear UX design system that not only improved conversion and supported business revenue goals but also created an experience that felt customized for all ages.
content connection
For Chompshop, the engagement with the brand extends far beyond initial purchase. While the ChompSaw serves as the hero product and primary revenue driver, the magic of ChompShop comes from the content which provides projects to expand the imagination. The challenge was not only to make all of these points of exploration accessible, but to make them easy to navigate regardless of the age of the audience. These pages needed to be the perfect balance of fun, educational and easy to navigate.

Engaging Through Upsells
The Chompshop team never wanted the purchase of the ChompSaw to be where their connection to their customers ended. They wanted a way to connect the purchase of the physical product with the endless learning and fun of their Inventor’s and Explorer’s Clubs; subscription programs that generate build projects. These subscription programs bring the business benefit of increased average order value and revenue. The solution was a seamless injection into both product pages and cart that presented these programs as must-have items as opposed to being interpreted as disruptive or annoying cash grabs.
